Open in new windowAs part of Islam Awareness Month, IOC is proud to announce that John Esposito, Professor of Islamic Studies at Georgetown University will be giving a lecture to the general student public. The topic will be: "Islamic Threat to the West: Myth or Reality"

Professor John Esposito is a professor of Islamic studies and International Affairs at Georgetown University. He has become a leading expert on Islam, its history and the many issues Muslims face around the world. He has authored many books on Islam, including "The Oxford History of Islam," and "Who Speakers for Islam? What a Billion Muslims Really Think." He is the founder of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University and is a prominent advocate of strong ties between Muslims and Christians.
